Rob Cowman
Senior Engineering Technical Advisor, Aberdeen

I’m a Mechanical Engineer with over 13 years experience in the oil and gas industry and I chose a new role at Proserv because of the numerous opportunities available to progress my career. After several years of contracting work I felt I had plateaued and needed to make a move to take on some new challenges using the experiences I had gained. Proserv offered me this and with an experienced management team on board, I knew I would have some excellent mentors.

As a fast growing company, Proserv is an exciting place to be right now as we are currently integrating and cross pollinating our group’s technologies so we have an even broader portfolio of products and services to market. We are developing a strong focus on the R&D of new products while ensuring our existing equipment is optimised for the current market in order to meet growing market demands for our products and services.

In terms of my career aspirations I would like to continue to progress through the company as I still feel as though I have a lot to learn, but I also feel obliged to pass on what I have learnt to others. Being an engineering company that manufactures products means my technical background will always be used. I’m also enjoying the team interaction that my new role has brought me.

The Company values reign true as there is a very team-focused environment, with team and peer support being actively encouraged. Proserv also has a strong focus on learning and development and I am continually presented with lots of opportunities to develop both my marketing skills and industry knowledge. This is a very exciting time to be working at Proserv and I look forward to the opportunities and challenges that come with the expanding nature of the business.

Karl Tønnessen
Senior Engineer, Stavanger

I started working in the oil and gas service industry in 1993 after spending several years within the construction and industrial sector. I joined Proserv in 1996 because of their reputation and have remained with the company ever since. Because of the fast changing nature of the industry and the speed at which the company has grown, the opportunities available to me since joining Proserv have been plentiful. There are no limitations for growth and I have always been encouraged to stretch myself, improve my knowledge and develop new skills.

I enjoy the people-focused nature of Proserv which has continued to remain strong throughout the company’s growth and development. In keeping with our values. there is a real focus on teamwork and not just from a regional perspective but around the world too.

When I started with Proserv over 18 years ago I never imagined I would be in the position that I am in today. It has been an exciting and inspiring journey for me so far and one that I very much hope to continue.

Nathan Paculba
Product Manager, Friction Stud Welding, Houma

I began working at Proserv in 2003. At the time, I was one of only four permanent employees hired from the Gulf region. We began with two Jet Cut systems and a small family of technicians. As a group, we constantly improved the technology, grew in numbers and competed in the region year after year. It is amazing to see the results of that evolution. We have come a long way.

Even as part of a larger global network, our close team dynamics have remained. I can speak from my experiences as an offshore supervisor and technician. Whether we were working in the Gulf region or further afield, with Aberdeen technicians or new guys, we ended up a tight-knit group. We traveled, worked and lived together. Challenges and accomplishments were shared, and those close working relationships seemed vital to the company’s success. Our experience in the offshore work environment produced long lasting friendships and core values which we bring with us as the company grows.

I have recently taken on a new role to grow and manage the Friction Stud Welding technology. My task is exciting because in the context of our larger company, the Friction Welding department had been modest in comparison to our decommissioning market share. With Proserv’s commitment for further development comes new opportunities for growth, reminiscent of my earlier experiences with this company. I look forward to the challenge ahead.

Francisca Rita Monteiro
Office Manager, Dubai

I have been with the company now for over 15 years. At Proserv, I have always been part of an enterprising team and I feel the leaders of the business are supportive and encouraging. Men and women are given equal opportunities, our opinions are always welcomed and a good work-life balance is well maintained. Career development is also actively fostered within the organization. I always had a psychological contract with Proserv based on the trustworthiness of management as they treat employees fairly and deliver on their promises. I feel this has attracted greater employee loyalty over the years.

I am looking forward to many more years at Proserv and look forward to the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.
