The client required a solution for disengaging a laydown head from a newly installed flowline and recovering from the PLET to the surface. Ensuring that no damage occurred to subsea assets during the campaign was critical to the integrity of those assets.
Laydown Head Removal Frame: Australia
Proserv developed a skid that interfaces with both the PLET and the laydown head, adjusts to the heading and attitude of the head, grasps and removes the head from the pipeline, and secures it within a frame suitable for safe recovery to the surface.
The scope of supply included development of methodology, design, build, extended FAT and SIT of the final tooling package, as well as an offshore campaign during the operation of the equipment.
