Aberdeen Young Professionals (AYP) has appointed Sarah Fowler – Proserv’s UK Marketing and Communications Lead – to its management committee in a bid to build on its already successful events and mentor programmes.

Sarah will be responsible for coordinating the group’s communications to, ultimately, maintain and enhance AYP’s profile in and around Aberdeen.

Sarah said: “Ever since I began my career in marketing and communications 12 years ago, I have been encouraged to attend various networking groups and events to not only promote myself but also my employer. There is great value in what AYP sets out to do and I am looking forward to getting to know the committee better whilst helping build awareness of their great work.”

Ross Jolly, Founder of AYP, added: “I look forward to Sarah helping build our reputation and increasing engagement with our programmes during a time when there is a real appetite to extend professional networks in order to stay ahead.”

In addition to attending the group’s events, members are encouraged to take advantage of the mentor scheme. Launched in 2016, it aims to connect young professionals with an established mentor who brings specific skills to the scheme.

Mentoring is open to individuals of all ages and backgrounds looking for career advice and direction. Potential mentees include those looking at a career change, individuals aiming to progress to the next level or those looking to develop a specific skill set.
