Proserv wins top Middle East Oil & Gas Industry Award

Posted: October 15, 2013

Proserv’s pioneering technology and commitment to safety has been recognised at a major oil and gas awards ceremony.

Proserv won the Technology Implementation of the Year accolade at the Oil and Gas Middle East Awards 2013 and was also shortlisted for the Health and Safety Initiative of the Year.

The industry recognition comes just days after Proserv chief executive, David Lamont, scooped an EY UK Entrepreneur of the Year 2013 award.

Rapidly growing Proserv has fast emerged as a leading specialist in exploration & production, drilling, and infrastructure technical solutions and services to the global energy industry.

The Oil and Gas Middle East Awards celebrate excellence amongst the region’s outstanding upstream and downstream industry, seeking out best in class organisations, projects, and the people who have proven they have gone that extra mile.

The development of an energy efficient chemical injection system led to Proserv’s Technology Implementation of the Year award. Launched during last year’s ADIPEC Conference, the system uses solar energy along with high efficiency components. As a result, Proserv is able to offer a system with 40% less inefficiencies than other conventionally methods operating within the same parameters.

Proserv’s shortlisting in the Health and Safety Initiative of the Year category was in testament to a new Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) champions’ programme that the company has introduced. Volunteers selected to be HSE champions at Proserv are responsible for ensuring a safe workplace with the use of correct protective equipment and procedures. They also promote safety habits amongst colleagues and an eco-friendly work environment.

Andy Anderson, Region President MENA said: “Developing leading technology whilst doing all we can to ensure safety are the two major focuses at Proserv. To be recognised for excellence in both is a wonderful accolade for our team and shows we are achieving our aims.

“The most important factor in our business is promoting a safe work culture and HSE Champions have been hugely successful in further enabling us to focus on its importance throughout the business.

“Living up to our commitment to Ingenious Simplicity, our engineers also challenged themselves to advance our current technology. By developing the energy efficient chemical injection system, they are helping our clients make significant savings on running costs whilst benefiting the environment.”

Proserv, which is headquartered in Westhill, Aberdeenshire, has a 35-year track record in delivering bespoke technologies and services for the energy industry, particularly in the drilling, production, subsea and decommissioning market sectors. The company operates worldwide across several regions and currently employs more than 1,900 people globally.

The annual Oil and Gas Middle East Awards were held for the fourth time at the Sofitel Abu Dhabi Corniche in Abu Dhabi.

Earlier this month, Proserv’s chief executive won the Private Equity Backed Business award at the EY UK Entrepreneur of the Year 2013 awards. David Lamont was praised for the company’s impressive acquisition strategy, its geographical reach and the opportunities for further expansion.

The accolade came just weeks after Mr Lamont was capped as Entrepreneur of the Year for Scotland at the EY awards. During his two years at Proserv, the company has recorded annual organic growth rates of 28%.
