Training Programme receives SQA approval

Proserv’s Test & Assembly facility based at our Birchmoss Facility, Aberdeenshire, has recently been awarded SQA Approved Centre Status for its Training Programme. This is a major achievement for Proserv and one that helps reinforce the company’s position as a market leader in the design, manufacturing, testing and installation of subsea equipment.
As the subsea industry continues to evolve, it is vital that personnel are suitably trained to help fuel and support this growth. Proserv recognises the importance of a trained and competent workforce that are accredited to international standards to meet the requirements of the global subsea industry. The Training programme ensures that personnel are not only trained specifically for the job and equipment to be used, but that they are also assessed to the highest of standards set by A1 Assessors.
Proserv’s aim is to fully develop a trainee for the challenges that a modern “Offshore or Subsea Technician” faces in the Oil and Gas Industry. The company recruits and trains at all levels, then assesses and develops a specific personal development programme with successful candidates helping them to achieve a SCQF level 5 and/or level 6 awards. The Level 5 customised award is tailored for Subsea Technicians with Level 6 specifically available for Senior Technicians.
Working alongside the Scottish Qualification Agency (SQA,) Proserv has developed its award based on workshop training and lecture room sessions. The company also has a Training Workshop where candidates work on actual Reelers, Hydraulic Power Units, Flushing and Test Equipment and are tutored by experienced supervisors and A1 assessors.
