Surface Preparation – Subsea Maintenance

Proserv can provide a range of surface preparation services for the oil & gas and offshore renewables sector to support inspection, repair and maintenance workscopes. We can supply equipment, services and custom-built tooling solutions.

In-depth blasting systems

For Integrity Management Inspection on any subsea structure, Proserv offers proprietary subsea grit blasting systems available as single or twin units. This prepares the substrate to an SA 2.5 profile finish. The units operate with various abrasive types, with a working pressure up to 350 psi (24 bar) and are diver/ROV deployable.

Pile Cleaning

Developed for the Renewables industry, Proserv’s Marine Growth Removal (MGR) tool is a specialised solution designed for the quick and safe removal of marine growth and other surface debris from the surface of a mono pile. Deployed from a support vessel, the MGR tool takes the form of a high-pressure water jet carriage which is lowered onto a mono pile to remove all marine growth without the need for diver intervention.

Platform Jacket cleaning

Proserv has and continues to develop our High & Ultra-High Pressure water jetting product lines, using industry recognised equipment capable of utilising sea or fresh water and in conjunction with our in-house designed manipulators and tools we have a full range of products that can be ROV or Diver deployed. These tools and manipulators facilitate the cleaning of subsea structures efficiently for inspection purposes. With marine growth build up over many years adding substantial weight to these structures, our tools remove the marine growth and fouling leaving a SA2 finish.

Casing/Mooring chain cleaning

Using the same water jetting technology as used in platform jacket cleaning, Proserv have a range of internal and external Cassion cleaning tools. These tools produce an SA 2 surface finish and can be deployed along with our camera inspection equipment to provide a before and after report on the Cassion condition. Proserv have also developed specific manipulators for mooring chain cleaning; these are ROV/diver deployable and allow full inspections to be completed.
