What We Are Looking For
We are currently seeking an outside Senior Sales Engineer to join our team in Qatar.
Your primary responsibility will be to drive new business development and sales by identifying and pursuing sales opportunities within the Oil & Gas market in Qatar, mainly for hazardous areas certified products & solutions.
You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with potential and existing clients, understanding their needs, and offering customized and differentiating solutions to solve their problems and help them achieve their goals.
Identify, qualify, and pursue new sales opportunities. Conduct research to identify potential clients, new vendors, target markets, and emerging trends to strategically position our solutions and services.
Collaborate closely with internal sales teams, including operations, and customer service, to ensure smooth project implementation and customer satisfaction.
You are an experienced engineer with a demonstrated history of working with an Electrical wholesale distributor or with prior experience in handling electrical services to the oil and gas industry.
Knowledgeable of international standards and manufacturers for Oilfield equipment and materials and functionalities related to establishing and administration of Long-Term Supply Agreements.
Adequate knowledge in EN/IEC 60079 series explosive atmosphere standards with understanding of ATEX/ IECEx design standards for zone classification system or the NEMA class and division system.
Key Accountabilities (includes, but not limited to the following)
Drive sales of Ex certified products and Ex Inspection services in the Qatar market.
Promote sales of Explosion proof product such as light fixtures, cable glands, junction boxes, control stations and power distribution boards and Ex customized solution based on customer requirement.
Assist local team with product group prequalification with national oil companies and end clients.
Identifying new vendors who fit our product offering and have the potential to boost revenue for the business unit.
Promote Ex Inspection business with NOC, Qatar Energy, Qatar Gas LNG & operational rigs in Qatar.
Conducting Site / Field visits to offer customers / end users solutions tailored to their systems / need.
Responding to & offering bespoke electrical and instrumentation solution to our EPC customers based on specified / unique challenges they are facing.
Formulate strategies based on customer requirements and analysing competitors market share & identifying competitors’ strengths and weaknesses.
Establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships to understand customer needs related to Power, Oil & Gas sectors.
Resolve customer issues promptly and provide technical assistance and support in liaison with other teams.
Coordinate and collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful delivery of customer projects.
Promotion of Proserv products to new and existing clients through pro-active approach.

Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Instrumentation or Mechanical.
5+ years’ experience in a sales role with Electrical distributors / Hazardous area solution providers or relevant experience related to sales in maintenance & repair operation in offshore industry specifically in the Qatar market.
You must have a good understanding of the Qatar oil & gas market segment’s demand, customer’s budgeting processes and purchasing behaviours.
Technically & commercially specialized in business related to Ex inspection or Electrical works/ services in Rigs.
You have a working knowledge of electrical contracting, bulk material contracting supplies and existing contact with Ex equipment manufactures.
Previous experience working with clients like NOC, Qatar Energy, Qatar Gas LNG and supplying to the Oil & Gas industry is mandatory.
Experience in sales of explosion proof products including Ex certified Junction boxes, Control stations, Distribution boards, Light fixtures & Cable glands and handling electrical bulk package for Oil & Gas EPC is advantageous.
Experience in electrical works or inspection in Offshore Structures.
